OLAS to close after 27 years
Just read about this on twitter, ironcly ine of things he said contributed to Firmager closing it down.

Bought it for a few years and never really agreed with Mr on alot of things but 27 years is a great run and deserves credit.

Happy retirement

Re: OLAS to close after 27 years
I know it wasn't popular on here but I used to enjoy it and wrote for OLAS on-and-off for a few years.

Sad to hear it is disappearing. Loads were predicting its demise for years since the rise of the internet forum and social media but it survived. I guess the inevitable has now happened.

I guess if it is going to close then this season is a fitting time to cease publication, particularly as the editorial stance was generally against the OS move.

Re: OLAS to close after 27 years
I heard from a variety of sources that Gary Firmager was to cease OLAS when the move to the Olympic Stadium happened.

The current hierarchy had apparently curtailed and constrained the ability of the magazines writers to interview players, from what I had been told.

I am sad to read that in a few months OLAS will be gone from Green Street, as well as the Boleyn Ground itself...

I liked Olas, but that "Is that real fox or a Ruel Fox" used to get right on my tits.

Might get a copy tonight.

Oh and shout good about for Sports Pages, earlier in the thread. Good shop that, remember they used to have the Satuday scores chalked on a board.

Tony McDonald was thinking of closing down Ex Hammers mag recently but has had a change of heart. It's a good read if you like to know what's happened to our former heroes, which I do.

Olas, Ott, Fah, the official programme, Hammers News, Pie, cup of splosh and a fag. You needed to be an octopus in those days.

Another match day ritual of yore sadly gone.
